Terms and Conditions

This is an accredited course designed for beginners and those who already hold a Beauty Therapy or Waxing qualification and seek to enhance their proficiency in carrying out waxing treatments.

What the course covers

You will be taught to carry out a range of the most popular waxing treatments and learn the theoretical knowledge and safety procedures involved in practising these treatments to the National Occupational Standards, including:

  • An understanding of how to recognise contraindications, contra actions and methods of referral
  • Health, safety and hygiene considerations
  • Consultation techniques
  • Use of hot and warm wax
  • Procedures for waxing including suggested treatment timings and costings
  • Aftercare advice

Upon satisfactory completion of this course, students will receive an A-List Beauty certificate in Female Intimate Waxing that is accredited by either BABTAC (British Association of Beauty Therapy & Cosmetology) or ABT (Associated Beauty Therapists) allowing you to obtain professional insurance.

Our tutors are dedicated to maintaining their knowledge and keeping up to date with the latest treatments and techniques in the ever-changing industry.

Course structure

The course is a mix of online lessons so you can study the contents at your own pace and practical exercises. The duration of the practical training is one day and runs from 10 am to approx 4 pm.

How to place bookings

A booking is only confirmed once we have received your payment and a booking confirmation has been sent to your email address. If you have not received a confirmation email, please check your junk or spam folder first. If you still did not get the email, you can contact us at hannah@alistbeautytherapy.co.uk.

Please note that we do not hold reservations.

Once you have purchased your training, you will receive access to your online training portal which will include all your online training materials and resources so you are able to get started with studying within 24 working hours. It’s very important the theory is studied in depth before your practical training day.

Your A-List Academy login details will be emailed to you within 24 working hours. If more than 24 hours have passed and it is not in your junk, email hannah@alistbeautytherapy.co.uk.

Upon completion of your theory, you are ready for your assessments. Please contact hannah@alistbeautytherapy.co.uk to book a date for your practical if you have not done so already.

Ways to pay

All classes must be paid for via www.alistbeautytherapy.co.uk, or bank transfer if you live abroad. We do not accept cash payments.

If we agree that you may pay a deposit of the class fees to book your spot, the balance must be paid no later than 7 days before the training. If the balance isn’t paid or you cancel the booking, then cancellation fees will apply. See below for additional information on cancellations.

If you need to change the date when the balance is due, please email us the reason and we will try to accommodate your request. Please note, however, that the cancellation fee may still apply.

Payment plans

“Pay It Monthly” payment plans are subject to credit approval and you will gain access to online courses immediately after acceptance. For in-person courses, you are able to attend a course straight away and can select any date available upon acceptance. If you are not accepted, your deposit will be refunded to your account by Pay It Monthly within 5 days. If you are not accepted with Pay It Monthly – we do have our own payment plan option – please contact us at info@alistbeautypro.com for information. Please note that if you choose to use our A-List Beauty Payment Plan you must have completed all payments before you can attend/receive any courses. If you miss the deadline for your chosen course, please contact us to reserve a space on the next available course. You must inform us at least 21 days prior to your original booked date.

Transfer of attendee

If you are unable to attend, we will allow you to send another person to your place at no extra cost, but it must be for the date booked. Please notify us of the new attendee’s name before training.

Cancellation fees

Cancellation by you: Once you have booked and paid either a deposit, or in full, if you cancel with:

  • More than 30 days before the date of your training, the minimum cancellation fee per course booked is £100.
  • Within 30 days of the training date, 50% of the course fee is payable.
  • Less than 30 days of the training date, 100% of the course fee is payable.
  • Less than 15 days of the training date, no refund will be given.

If you had only paid a deposit, you will be liable to pay the remaining balance.

Cancellation by us: We reserve the right to cancel, postpone or otherwise alter the content or date of an event without notice. We will, therefore, refund in full without penalty of a cancellation fee.

Hair growth

Please note you will be required to give and receive treatments as part of the course and therefore will need to ensure you allow hair (re)growth in the areas to be covered on the training day. This must be a minimum of 1/4 inch (or at least 4 weeks of growth) to ensure all students have the best possible opportunity to practice their skills. Failure to do so may result in you failing the course.

Students work on each other and I will provide models for the training. You will be required to bring a model if:

  • You have a contraindication to waxing or a medical condition and you have provided a detailed doctor’s letter; or
  • You’ve had laser hair removal; or
  • If you have another reason for not wanting to be waxed. In this case, please discuss this with us so that we may make the necessary arrangements, if applicable.

They will only be needed for an hour and will also need at least 1/4 inch/ 4 weeks hair growth.

Confidentiality

All training materials provided to you are confidential information of A-List Beauty and shall be maintained in confidence by you.

Ownership of materials

Any copyrights, patent rights, trade secrets, trademarks and other intellectual property developed or produced in connection with the training will be the property of A-List Beauty.

Special needs

If you have special needs that need to be taken into account on the day of the training, please email us 14 days in advance so any accommodating measures can be implemented.
